People are losing their minds after the assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump. This is understandable considering we witnessed live, as an assassin with an AR-15 sent bullets flying within inches of Trump’s head. One even grazed his ear, sending him ducking for cover as more bullets rang out. One photographer even captured a bullet whizzing within inches of his head. So, obviously, there are some concerning questions that people are demanding. This is to be expected after an event like this. Surely people are wondering how this could happen? Or why was the shooter not detained for suspicion? Or why did they not take Trump off stage before shots rang out? Those are questions any reasonable person would ask. However, those are not the questions many are asking from the left.
Instead, they want to know what hit his ear. That’s right, bullets are flying right towards the former president, and for some odd reason, many do not believe he was struck by a bullet. All of this was brought up over a vague comment from Christopher Wray, Director of the FBI, who stated:
“I think with respect to former President Trump there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that, you know, hit his ear.”
This comment stirred up more leftist conspiracy theorists than I have seen. They ignore a following statement by the director which stated:
“It’s conceivable that as I sit here right now, I don’t know whether that bullet in addition to, you know, causing the grazing, could have also landed somewhere else.”
With his double-talking out both sides of his mouth, he has stirred up conspiracy after conspiracy about Trump not being hit by a bullet.
Here at Logical Piranha, I can’t conceive why the hell it matters. Whether it was a piece of glass or a bullet, a barrage of bullets were being fired at the former president and current Republican nominee for President of the United States. Of all the reasonable questions that need to be answered, this is where the left is. Never mind how a shooter remained on top of the most valuable sniper’s nest on the site for 20 minutes. Never mind how he was spotted with a rangefinder an hour before Trump went on stage and not detained for questioning. Never mind how he was allowed to fire off 8 rounds at a former President, let’s debate if it was a bullet or not that injured him.
Well, people, I can’t answer those hard questions myself. But anybody with half a brain can come pretty close to reasonably determining if the president was hit with a bullet. So for those of you incapable of doing so yourself, allow me to help.
The Conspiracies
Before we dive into what injured Donald Trump, let’s debunk some ridiculous theories. To do this, I will refer you to a couple of videos.
Was it Staged?
In this video from YouTube channel Garand Thumb, we will easily debunk the conspiracy theory that Trump staged this by hiring a sniper to shoot him in the ear for clout and sympathy. You will quickly find out by these highly qualified marksmen that the mere notion is ridiculous and impossible.
Now that we’ve got that ridiculousness out of the way, let’s move on to our next video.
A Shot to the Ear Would Blow Off His Face
Yeah, there are people out there that have been fed so much garbage and fear about an AR-15, they actually believe this. Well, this video from Brandon Herrera will dispel that often used leftist fear tactic once and for all. While it is true that a shot that enters the body can do some devastating damage, a bullet that grazes or penetrates the ear will do very little damage at all. Pay close attention to the first shot because that appears to be more likely the shot Trump took, just a bit higher on the ear.
Ok, so we can say with quite a bit of confidence that he most likely didn’t stage this, and let’s be serious. The one thing Trump loves more than anything in this world, is Trump. He would never willingly risk his own life in such a stunt. We can also agree that a bullet grazing his ear is completely possible without blowing his face off. Let’s move on to proving that all evidence available suggests he was hit with a bullet.
The Scene
It was a bright and sunny afternoon and Trump was on stage about to share his favorite chart about illegal immigration. Just as he turns his head to the right, 3 loud noises ring out in a loud blasting sound. As Trump reacts to something that hit his ear and pulls back his hand which has blood on it, he realizes he should probably duck down. As he ducks down, 5 more loud noises occur. What could these loud noises possibly be?
Enter Exhibit A:Thomas Matthew Crooks
Enter Exhibit B: His Father’s AR15 (A Gun)
As we inspect this new evidence, we can immediately see Thomas Matthew Crooks on top of a building and what is that in his hand? Well, that is Exhibit B, an AR-15. In Exhibit A, we see Crooks aiming Exhibit B at former President of the US Donald J. Trump. And what do you think is coming out of that barrel? Well, it’s not jelly beans. It’s bullets.
Based on this new evidence, we can easily deduce that bullets being fired at Trump were likely what caused those loud noises that sent everyone ducking for cover. It starts to make sense.
Enter Exhibit C
Further evidence from Exhibit C confirms our expert analysis that it was indeed a bullet being fired at Donald Trump. Not only is that a bullet, but it is inches from Trump’s head. And that can be determined if you understand a little bit about photography. The photographer noted this photo was shot at a shutter speed of 1/8000th and his aperture was F1.6. At that large of an aperture, the focal range (area in focus) is incredibly small. We are talking a few inches. If it was further than just a few inches in front of or behind Trump’s head, it would be extremely blurred out and probably impossible to see. It was extremely close.
Now, this most likely was NOT the bullet that hit his ear. After reviewing video footage and based on the moment Trump reacts to being hit, it is clear that the first bullet would have been long gone. The bullet in the photograph is most likely either the second or third shot. Reviewing footage indicates it was most likely the first shot that grazed his ear.

In Exhibit D, we see in the first image Trump reacting already with the bullet captured. We believe it is impossible for his hand to already be going up as far as it has in that image and the bullet still being in the frame if it was the one that hit his ear. We believe the bullet captured was the second or maybe third shot.
In the second image, you can see Trump grabbing his ear after being hit by something. In the third image, he pulls his hand away with spots of blood. I realize it’s hard to see the blood so see below, Exhibit E.

Let’s summarize what we know so far. It was almost definitely not staged. A round from an AR-15 can, in fact, graze an ear with minimal damage. Loud noises rang out which evidence suggests was assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks shooting bullets out of his father’s AR-15. Before Trump ducks for cover, 3 of those bullets are fired in Trump’s direction, one of which is captured on camera inches from his head. Trump is struck by something… I wonder what it could have been? Some would suggest that it was glass from a teleprompter. Let’s take a look into that idea.

The theory is that the shooter hit a teleprompter causing it to shatter and send glass towards Trump’s ear. It was an intentionally altered and blurred photo of the teleprompters that sparked this theory. However, as high-resolution video from KTVQ shows, the teleprompters are completely intact and untouched during the barrage of bullets. Whatever hit Trump’s ear, was not glass from a teleprompter.
So could it have been something else?

Of all the video footage I have looked at, and it’s been a lot, the only other indication that there could be shrapnel flying was from this shot that injures a man and you can see shots hitting the railing which could send shrapnel flying. There were also a few shots that hit the hydraulic lift that was used to hang the speakers for the event. There were a few reports of people in these areas getting hit by shrapnel, however, notice how far Trump is from this area. If you can’t tell from the image in the video, see
Exhibit H. *Note, this video also suggest that there was a shooter on the water tower. But that is a topic for another day.

In Exhibit H, we can see approximately where the shots were landing as there were injuries in these sections. And as we saw in the Exhibit G video, it is likely that shrapnel would be present as it was hitting the railings. However, as you can clearly see, both of these areas are a good distance away from former President Trump, it is not likely that he was hit by any of that shrapnel. Is it possible there were additional shots that landed closer to Trump to cause shrapnel? Possibly, but very unlikely. Video was running on Trump the entire time and there is no evidence of any shots hitting anywhere near Trump, other than the one that grazed his ear and continued on.
So let’s summarize once more.
- Not Staged.
- AR15 can hit ear and cause minimal damage.
- Loud noises rang out which evidence suggest was assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks.
- He was shooting bullets out of his father’s AR15.
- 3 of those bullets are fired in Trumps direction.
- One of which is captured on camera inches from his head.
- Teleprompters intact and undamaged.
- Any shrapnel likely was far away from Trump.
Why Hasn’t There been a Medical Report Released?
Well, I don’t know why the ER hasn’t released any major details. But they would only be able to do so with Trump’s permission. However, Dr. Ronnie Jackson, who joined the White House Medical Unit in the mid-2000s under George W. Bush, and served as physician to the president from 2013 to 2018 under Barack Obama and Donald Trump, flew out to be with Trump just hours after the attempted assassination. Many will say, “Oh, but Ronnie isn’t a doctor, he had a pill mill in the White House, you can’t go by his word.” Well, first off, he 100% does have a Ph.D. He’s just not a licensed practitioner. He still has his doctorate, and also, Jackson holds an active license in Florida, according to the state’s online license verification system. However, it’s listed as “military active,” which means “the licensed practitioner, serving in the Armed Forces of the United States, is only authorized to practice in a military facility,” per the Florida Department of Health. This man was good enough for George W. and Obama, but people discredit him because he is now close to Trump. Unless you have a better solution, we have to trust him for now. Or don’t, I don’t really care, but here is what he had to say about the situation.

According to Dr. Jackson, there is no doubt that Trump was grazed by a bullet and not a piece of shrapnel. Everyone is demanding to see his wound and to release medical records, but no matter what is released, they are never happy. If you look hard enough, you can find photos of his ear right after it was hit. If you have a look at Exhibit J below, you can even see the damage at the top edge of his ear. So those claiming that he was not injured at all should just sit down.

Based on the evidence provided here, I feel it is reasonable to conclude that the former President was indeed hit by a bullet from the assassin’s AR-15. On the contrary, there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever to suggest it was shrapnel.
I truly hope that we can move past this insignificant issue and focus on some of the real questions people should be asking. This event was not just some political stunt to attract new voters. Why is he so afraid to show his wound? I don’t know. Maybe he wants the sympathy, maybe he wants to milk it. Maybe he is afraid if people see his wound they will have to acknowledge that he is not some superhuman being and he is in fact just as vulnerable as you or I. Whatever the reason, it doesn’t matter. People were critically injured. A man died. We need to know how the shooter was able to walk around for over an hour after being spotted without being detained and questioned. We need to know why several audience members could spot him easily and alerted police, but law enforcement could not. We need to know why Trump wasn’t immediately taken off stage when this guy was first spotted on the roof of a building. There are so many more important questions that should be asked. What scratched Trump’s ear is not one of them. It could have been a bumblebee for all I care.
